Hapless protagonist Guybrush Threepwood is back-older and only slightly wiser this time around. Much like the earliest games in the series, Return to Monkey Island is a traditional 2D point-and-click adventure game built on storytelling and puzzle-solving. It's also a thrilling sequel in its own right one that sees the beloved series return in swashbuckling fashion by incorporating ideas both old and new. With this in mind, it should come as no surprise that Return to Monkey Island is tinged with nostalgia and leans into this wistfulness with obvious joy.

The self-described grumpy gamer helmed development on this unexpected sequel alongside veteran designer and writer Dave Grossman and the talented team at developer Terrible Toybox.

It's the kind of love that trickles down from the top, as Guybrush Threepwood's latest adventure sees series creator Ron Gilbert welcomed back into the fold for the first time since 1991's Monkey Island 2: LeChuck's Revenge. Fans of the adventure genre, lovers of puzzles and challenge from the game will definitely enjoy and spend a lot more than ten hours of playing time behind the screen.A palpable fondness for the first two Monkey Island games emanates throughout every three-headed monkey gag and bout of insult swordfighting in Return to Monkey Island. Players can synchronize the game with the phone, and go through some puzzles on it, and then again return to the passage on the PC. A thoughtful player will be able to notice Mina's suspicious resemblance to the famous Lara Croft. Characters are drawn to the smallest detail. Bright, a little cartoony graphics will appeal to the connoisseur of a good picture. In the course of action, you will have to fight for survival and solve complex puzzles.

The plot is served in portions and is full of mysteries. Nimble Jupe crawls into hard-to-reach caves and shelters, and can also communicate with other monkeys who are “like fish in water” in their native forest.
